    18th May 2016

I can hardly believe how quickly this half term is going.

We have been very busy over that last couple of weeks.

The annual duck race took place on 7th May. Thanks to all that supported.

Last week we had fun Sports Day. Thankfully the weather was kind. It was good to see so many parents/carers come and support. Pupils had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities supported by pupils in Key Stage 4. All performed brilliantly. The winning team were Chestnut- Well Done. Thankyou also to our parents and friends who provided refreshments and raised over £300.

The last week of this half term will no doubt go very quickly. Year 8 are off on residential next week to Mill Rythe in Hampshire. Fingers crossed the sun continues to shine and they have a great time.

I hope everyone has a lovely half term when it arrives. My next blog will be on Friday 8th June.

In this year’s London Marathon we had 2 people associated with the school complete it on what turned out to be a very warm day. Mr Bridges (IT Teacher) clocked a time of 5hrs 59mins and 47secs. We also had an ex pupil, Gina, complete in a time of 6hrs 8mins and 39secs. A huge congratulations to them both.

Year 11 are super busy finishing off all their course work and are certainly looking forward to all the activities they have coming up in the next few weeks including some fundraising towards the Prom – watch this space and be prepared to sponsor!!

A reminder that on Monday 7th May – Duck Race at Lavant starting at 2pm and Friday 11th May - Fun Sports Day at 1.00 pm. We look forward to seeing parents/carers and families there.

I hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

My next blog will be on 18th May.

Welcome to my first blog of the summer term. It’s my favourite term of the year, both because of the weather and also all the great things that we have planned.

It’s the last term for our Year 11 pupils who are just starting to complete coursework and exams towards their qualifications. I am sure they will all do fantastically well and as always try their best.

As I have said, we have lots going on this term including Year 8, Year 11 and Duke of Edinburgh residential trips and we have our bi-annual school production this term. This year we are doing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All pupils are very much looking forward to these.

Just before we finished for Easter, we had our termly Rising Stars Day. This focuses on pupils accessing a range of activities outside the classroom related to a range of curriculum areas.
