Dear Parents and Carers,

Further to my letter that was sent out on Sunday 1st November, I am writing to update parents/carers with some additional measure that will be implemented in school from tomorrow.

It was announced that schools will remain open to all pupils and currently this is still the case. We will be operating under our return to school risk assessment. This means that most of our arrangements in school will be the same as they are now.

As schools are to remain open this does mean that children are expected to attend school. We do however have a number of children who are particularly vulnerable because of medical reasons and the school will have individual conversations with those families.

If you are needing to self-isolate please let us know so we can make the appropriate note in the attendance registers. It is vital that anyone who has any COVID symptoms remains at home and follows the current guidance on arranging a test. If this happens you should advise school as a matter of urgency and also the results of any tests so that we can take appropriate action.

In addition to the measures we currently have in place to keep everyone safe, we are asking that all adults coming on to the school site (either via Woodlands Lane or Norwich Road) to drop off or collect children wear a mask whilst they are within the school site. If this presents you with any difficulties please contact the office and we will discuss arrangements with you.

The staff will be wearing masks in all communal areas, corridors and at transport times. In class staff will not wear masks but can where a clear face visor if they wish.

We have also agreed that secondary age pupils if they wish to can wear a mask when moving around the school. Masks will need to be removed when in class. Can I also ask that your child comes in with a clean mask every day and a named bag that it can be stored in. I have attached an information sheet regarding using masks safely.

Primary pupils will not be wearing masks in school. This is in line with Government guidelines.

Due to the current situation, we will also be postponing after school clubs until the spring term. We can reimburse any payment made or carry over to next term.

Thank you for your support and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

With very best wishes

Helen Ball
