At St. Anthony’s we know how important it is to prepare our pupils for the future. We are committed in providing a comprehensive Careers Programme that provides meaningful experiences, information, advice and guidance that enables us to address the career development of all our pupils.
Here is an overview of our careers programme, and the range of experiences we offer.
Pupils voices are gained for their Annual Review.
In secondary, pupils have the opportunity to attend their Annual Reviews to be actively involved in transition and future planning.
Via KS4 Pathways, pupils can choose to follow subjects in DofE, Forest School, Catering, Humanities, Land Based Studies, Arts
In KS4, pupils can study ‘Working Towards Independence’ which is an ASDAN Qualification
In Year 11, pupils receive explicit careers lessons with a focus on developing employability skills.
Pupils have access to a broad curriculum that has clear links to careers in all subject areas.
In KS4, where appropriate, pupils have access to impartial personal careers guidance with a qualified careers advisor.
Where appropriate, pupils complete Future Skills Questionnaire – a tool to measure a pupil’s career readiness.
We aim to inspire and motivate pupils to develop themselves as individuals and live as independently as possible.
We raise vocational aspirations for pupils through meaningful work environment experiences.
Pupils have opportunities to meet and engage with inspirational speakers including those with SEND.
Pupils have opportunities to meet relevant local employers and employees and participate in volunteering projects.
Have opportunities to be actively involved in enterprise projects.
Take part in STEM events.
Be encouraged to challenge stereotypes and discrimination in the workplace.
